Thanks. You guys have all confirmed ideas that have come to me, but I was never entirely sure as to whether or not they would work.

But, it seems with a bit of experimentation, I'll get there.

I recently shot a short in a grocery store with it's many coolers and humming flourescents. I record the "atmos" and just laid that under all the scenes in the store and though the audio was not clean it was consistent and it made a world of difference.

I think AVID has a hum filter but it did not work real well for me.
